            Service First Education and Training Modules are
         Aligned to the NC Professional Development Standards

The North Carolina professional development standards begin with the premise that a primary goal of professional development is to help educators develop the knowledge, skills, behaviors, and insights needed to become effective classroom teachers and school leaders.

Based on research by the National Staff Development Council (NSDC), the State standards provide the vision framework for making professional development more responsive to the learning needs of both educators and students.  The standards clearly describe behaviors and attitudes that will lead to maximized teaching and learning.  (The Public Schools of North Carolina, "North Carolina Professional Development: Standards-at-a Glance”)

In keeping with North Carolina’s goals to challenge educational professionals to lead in unprecedented efforts to become "First in America in Education" by 2010, Service First Education and Training is offering a menu of professional learning programs that will help school leaders improve performance and increase student achievement.

Since 1989, Service First Education and Training has sponsored and produced professional development opportunities and training resources for school administrators and executives, early childhood providers, support staff, parents and other stakeholders.

Our training program methodology is designed to promote professional teacher development strategies that result in positive and productive learning outcomes for children based on research and best practices. We are committed to offering programs that can stir up the passion in teachers, school executives, families, and other stakeholders as they work with children.

We offer strategies that:
(
1)  address academic issues;
(
2) assist in adopting best practices to benefit all students;
(
3) assure that all students become proficient according to NC standard
